SYSTEM TITLE: Digital Marketing Specialist

POSITION REPORTS TO: Public Relations and Social Media Manager           

JOB SUMMARY:    Develop storylines and plan, write, photograph, video and edit conversation-focused copy and content across a variety of digital and traditional platforms and assist marketing team in developing engaging content for marketing/advertising campaigns.

  1. Practice, support and promote the mission, vision and values of Muckleshoot Casino.
  2. Report, write, produce, photograph, videotape, edit and/or review content for, the Muckleshoot Casino blog and the casino’s social media channels.
  3. Assist with the creation, implementation and planning of targeted social media campaigns, from idea generation and conceptualization to research, writing and producing posts and/or content.
  4. Align content and communication strategies with company goals while following best practices of owned, paid and earned media.
  5. Assist with community management across a variety of social channels with an eye towards timely response and engaging interaction.
  6. Partner with Social Media Manager in the creation, execution and evolution of editorial calendar.
  7. Utilize listening software and data analytics in the creation and evaluation of content to gauge effectiveness and to evolve future tactics.
  8. Keep up-to-date on best practices and trends involving content and engagement strategies.
  9. Identify and implement new ways to grow brand engagement via content and communication strategies.
  10. Work closely with multiple departments to obtain information, images and graphics needed to create and produce content.
  11. Ensure content is compelling, accurate and on brand and consistent in style, tone and quality.
  12. Develop and manage editorial workflows, processes, training and tools.
  13. Contribute to the on-going social and editorial dialogue regarding the Muckleshoot Casino brand.
  14. Create, maintain and facilitate a positive work environment.
  15. Smile and engage guests and team members with a positive professional demeanor.
  16. All other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications or journalism required. Eight (8) years comprehensive and progressive writing experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Writing experience required and at least (3) years freelance, BSB or B2C experience required.
  • Portfolio required.
  • Photography and/or videography, mobile device application and photo or film editing software experience strongly desired.



  • Advanced writing and editing skills.
  • Advanced HTML and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation communication skills. Read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Strong knowledge of the different types of writing required for a variety of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Demonstrated skill preferred.
  • Knowledgeable about general SEO best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • High functioning, detail orientated, analytical, project driven and results focused.

  • Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork.      
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; walk; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Occasionally more with assistance.



  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Some essential functions of the job will be performed within a smoking environment.
  • Monitored by surveillance cameras.
