JOB TITLE: Restaurant Supervisor

 

GAMING LICENSE REQUIRED: Class III B
GRADE: 12 / $21.843
STATUS:  Hourly
POSITION REPORTS TO:  Food Services Manager/Restaurant Shift Manager
 
JOB SUMMARY: Supervises restaurant and concession staff. Oversees the operation, ensuring the utmost in efficiency and service. Inventories, restocks, and keeps restaurant and concession areas running smoothly. Assists with training, schedules, disciplines and recommends termination of staff.

Responsibilities

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Practice, support and promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Muckleshoot Casino.
  2. Supervise food service and concession employees
  3. Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale
  4. Monitor staff performance to ensure compliance with all phases of service, sanitation and safety procedures
  5. Recommend and assist in employee evaluations and discipline
  6. Respond to call-outs, adjust staffing to ensure appropriate coverage   
  7. Promote positive public relations
  8. Ensure all orders are delivered within designated timelines
  9. Ensure dining room is kept neat and clean
  10. Ensure proper procedures are adhered to while handling emergency situations
  11. Inform staff of daily specials and special events, programs, or new policies
  12. Ensure food products are up to standards and served on time
  13. Monitor all cash register and cash handling functions to ensure Point of Sale (POS) compliance
  14. Responsible for daily receipts and monthly inventories
  15. Resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
  16. Train new employees; supervise ongoing training as necessary
  17. Create, maintain and facilitate a positive work environment
  18. Smile and engage Guests and Team Members with positive professional demeanor.
  19. Perform other tasks/duties as assigned

Qualifications

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS (required / preferred): 

  • Must maintain a valid WA State health card/food handlers permit
  • Must maintain a Class 12 Liquor License

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION (required / preferred): 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Two (2) years' experience in Food service preferred with at least one (1) year managerial or supervisory experience required

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

  • Ability to demonstrate proper etiquette in table setting and service
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information both in written and verbal form
  • Ability to handle large sums of money accurately
  • Ability to identify intoxicated guests
  • Ability to manage and resolve guest issues
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
  • Ability to train all staff positions 
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work well with subordinates, management and guests in a professional manner
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information and materials
  • Ability to  apply general rules to specific problems to produce appropriate solutions
  • Knowledge of restaurant and concession procedures
  • Knowledge of wines and liquor
  • Working knowledge of computers, basic software and POS Systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical requirements described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. 

  • Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended length of time
  • Ability to lift up to thirty pounds (30 lb.), and occasionally higher with assistance
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Some essential functions of the job will be performed within a smoking environment
  • Monitored by surveillance cameras
  • Use of portable radio or cellular telephone to be in constant contact with department
