Overview

JOB TITLE:  Promotions Specialist

 

GAMING LICENSE REQUIRED:  Class III B

GRADE:  12 / $22.441

STATUS:  Hourly

POSITION REPORTS TO:  Promotions and Special Events Manager

 

JOB SUMMARY:  Develop, implement, and supervise casino oriented promotions, special event programs, tournament activities, and theme parties.  Responsible for coordinating in-house hosting of guests and other programs designed to develop and cultivate new and existing high-limit players; ensure proper on-site representation and promotional advertising coordination.  Serve as a company internal promotions representative to promote positive team member morale for an extraordinary guest experience. 

Must be available to work flexible shift schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  1. Practice, support and promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Muckleshoot Casino.
  2. Coordinate, facilitate, and execute Casino promotions and off site events/tradeshows.
  3. Coordinate times, dates and schedules for promotions/special events.
  4. Create and coordinate promotional rules from beginning to end for approval and presentation to proper authorities.
  5. Host and emcee promotions/special events.
  6. Coordinate accurate payout of guests for promotional drawings and tournaments.
  7. Utilize the Preferred Players Club database and CMP to maximize and track promotions.
  8. Answer questions about the Casino and Players Club.
  9. Assist and coordinate the creation of advertisements and collateral dealing with promotions.
  10. Maintain promotional files and historical information.
  11. Works with casino staff to ensure proper on-site and off-site representation and promotional coordination.
  12. Promote positive guest relations in person, by phone and via correspondence, invitations, and direct mailings.
  13. Advise management of project tasks and assignments.
  14. Assist with negotiating, purchasing and managing promotional inventory.
  15. Create purchase requisitions using Dynamics AX.
  16. Set up vendors with vendor numbers through Finance.
  17. Initiate check requests for approval when needed.
  18. Create, maintain and facilitate a positive work environment
  19. Smile and engage Guest and Team Members with a positive professional demeanor
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING FOR POSITION (required/preferred):

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • AA/AS or BS/BA Degree in Marketing or related field preferred. Extensive marketing promotions and player development with strong analytical experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Minimum of two (2) years casino promotions experience required or similar experience in entertainment/hospitality field.
  • Public speaking experience required.
  • Computer training required. 
  • Experience with database marketing preferred.

 

ON-SITE TEST REQUIRED: All tests are distributed in person at the Human Resources’ Office

  • Typing test required

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

  • Must be able to type or keyboard 45+wpm.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Working knowledge of player tracking and database software. 
  • Strong guest service and team member relations skills. 
  • Proven organizational and time management skills and handle working on multiple tasks at the same time with speed, efficiency and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate ability to generate results in high-stress and difficult situations.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  The physical requirements described herein are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. 
  • Must be able to stand, sit, bend, reach, or squat intermittently for eight (8) hours or longer per shift.
  • Manual and finger dexterity needed for the operation of personal computers and routine paperwork.
  • Visual acuity necessary to produce, document and track promotional efforts. 
  • Must be able to lift at least forty pounds (40 lbs).

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Some essential functions of the job will be performed within a smoking environment.
  • Monitored by surveillance cameras.
