    JOB TITLE:   Counter / Barista  


    GRADE: 4 / $11.812
    STATUS: Hourly   
    POSITION REPORTS TO:  Restaurant Supervisor


    JOB SUMMARY:  Takes orders, presents food and beverage to guests, and ensures food and beverage quality and a positive guest experience.


    MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  The statements describe the general nature and level of work only.  They are not an exhaustive list of all required responsibilities, duties, and skills.  Other duties may be added, or this description amended at any time.

    1. Practice, support and promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Muckleshoot Casino.
    2. Accurately takes food and beverage orders.
    3. Prepares and maintains a counter, before, during and after patrons are served.
    4. Helps guest’s select food and beverage items (i.e. explaining daily specials or answering preparation questions). 
    5. Operates espresso bar and makes espresso drink orders (where applicable).
    6. Follows standards for display cases; maintains, cleans and restocks as needed.
    7. Ensures customer satisfaction by delivery of food in an efficient and friendly manner, as deemed by outlet, may page customer for counter pick up, or deliver to table.
    8. Follows cash handling and cash register procedures.
    9. Reconciliation of daily “end of shift” financial transactions.
    10. Performs assigned daily and weekly cleaning tasks.
    11. Informs management of guest requests, inventory shortages, replenishment needs and food spoilage.
    12. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
    13. Provides excellent customer service to ensure a positive guest experience.
    14. Create, maintain and facilitate a positive work environment
    15. Smile and engage Guests and Team Members with a positive professional demeanor
    16. Performs other duties as assigned.



    • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
    • Must maintain a valid WA State Health Card/Food Handlers Permit. 
    • One (1) year counter serving experience preferred.
    • Barista experience preferred.
    • Cash handling experience preferred.


    • Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
    • Must be able to follow specific instructions.
    • Knowledge of all beverages, and the ability to make flavored and other specialty drinks with consistency.
    • Ability to learn and use technical equipment (espresso machine).
    • Ability to handle stress under pressure.
    • Ability to provide quality customer service.
    • Ability to accurately exchange money with the customers.
    • Ability to reconcile all cash and money at the end of the day.
    • Ability and willingness to maintain a clean, healthy and safe working environment.
    • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  The physical requirements described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.

    • Must be able to stand for long periods.
    • May need to lift up to thirty pounds (30 lbs.), occasionally higher with assistance.
    • Manual and finger dexterity to use equipment.
